Benzoic acid have been extensively used for years as an effective preservative to control microbial growth, such as yeast, bacteria, mold and fungi, in various applications in Bakery products Such as Flour tortillas, Pizza, pancakes and used as an inactive ingredient in preservation Formulations for Fish & Fish Benzoic acid and sodium benzoate are used as food preservatives and are most suitable for foods, fruit juices, and soft drinks that are naturally in an acidic pH range.
Their use as preservatives in food, beverages, toothpastes, mouthwashes, dentifrices, cos- metics, and pharmaceuticals is regulated.
