Intelligent Real Time Flame Monitoring System Device With Temperature Measurement For high temperature and high pressure coal gasifiers, it is difficult to perform real-time monitoring to the combustion and reaction process.

In view of the fact, SMDERI has developed the intelligent flame detection and temperature measuring device to provide real-time monitoring of combustion process in the gasifier through a small window.

It is an integrated device to provide flame detection signal, calculate the flame temperature based on the flame image and thus deliver reliable signals for the stable operation of the gasifier.

The intelligent flame detection and temperature measuring device has three key functions: flame detection, flame image video transmission and temperature measuring inside the coal gasifier.

During the operation, the flame detection is used to check if there is flame in the gasifier and detect the flame strength.

A specially structured camera is used to record the flame status and transmit the video to the control room.

The image received will be analyzed in the control room and the chamber temperature recorded by the camera will be calculated based on CCD color trichromatic theory, flame physical propertyies (color, frequency, shape) and Plancks law.

In this way, the system can integrate three functions of temperature measuring, video transmission and flame detection.

The system is wired as follows: The flame detection system mainly consists of flame monitor, flame CCD camera, video control box, ex-proof distribution box, image acquisition software and hardware and flame temperature analyzing software and hardware.

The main advantages of the intelligent flame monitoring system includes: 1) It adopts flame detectors from well-known suppliers, for example, Durag, Lamtec and etc.

; 2) It is able totransfer system information toreceiver equipment at a long distance; 3) It clearly shows whether there is fire or not in the gasifier; 4) It can also be used to observe theinternal wall temperature ofgasifier; 5) It displays the flame status by video on real-time; 6) The flame video can be stored for long time and is available for replaying.
