**Powder supply speed**

The powder supply speed is an important parameter affecting the molding quality of M2 material.

A lower powder supply speed can extend the real-time heat treatment time.

Although it may cause a slight decrease in hardness, it can significantly improve the microstructure, reduce defects such as cracks and pores, and increase the tensile strength.

Experimental results show that the optimized sample can reach a hardness of 58.97 HRC and a tensile strength of 937 MPa.

**Microstructure**

M2 material forms a microstructure with a fine martensite columnar crystal network structure under the SLM process.

This structure not only increases the strength of the material, but also improves its wear resistance.

The main phases include α-Fe, austenite, martensite and MC carbide.

The existence of these phases allows the material to maintain good properties at high temperatures.

In short, the manufacturing process of complex advanced M2 materials relies on modern additive technologies such as laser selective melting.

Through fine control of process parameters and microstructure design, high-performance tool materials can be prepared.
