• Impact toughness: The impact toughness value of AISI 5120H is αkv≥59J/cm², and the cross-sectional shrinkage rate is ≥40%.

It can maintain structural stability and reduce the risk of fracture under complex working conditions.

• Heat treatment optimization: Through quenching (840-880℃) and tempering (150-200℃) processes, the hardness and toughness can be further improved to meet the requirements of high strength and impact resistance.

2 - Mechanical properties

• Tensile strength: ≥835MPa, yield strength ≥540MPa, hardness ≤179HB, with both high strength and good plasticity.

• Wear resistance: The addition of chromium (0.70-1.00%) and molybdenum (0.15-0.35%) makes it have excellent wear resistance and is suitable for high-load scenarios.

3 - Processing and applicability

• Machinability: Low carbon content (0.17-0.22% C) makes it easy to cut and suitable for manufacturing complex-shaped parts (such as gears and shafts).

• Weldability: Preheating and control of welding current are required to avoid cracks.
