The steel is kept at the quenching temperature for a certain period of time to transform its internal structure into austenite, and then quickly cooled to room temperature.

The cooling medium can be oil, water or polymer solution, depending on the specific requirements and the size of the steel.

The hardness of the steel after quenching can reach above HRC60, but it will also become more brittle.
