Aluminium Cold Forging Parts - China

price: 2.00 Dollar US$

Different types of forging processes: There are primarily three types of forgingprocesses: open-die forging, ideal for larger aluminum components; closed-dieforging, well-suited for more intricate designs and tighter tolerances; andring-rolled forging used to create high-strength ring-shaped applications.

1 - Open-die forging Ideal for processing large pieces ofaluminum, open die presses do not constrain the aluminum billet during theforging process and utilize flat dies free of precut profiles and designs.

Aluminum blocks weighing up to 200, 000 pounds and 80 feet in length can beopen-die forged to create large aluminum components with optimal structuralintegrity.

While welding and joining techniques are useful in creating largecomponents, they cannot match the strength or durability of a forged part.

Open-die forgings are limited only by the size of the starting stock.

2 - Closed-die forging Closed-die forging, also known asimpression-die forging, can produce an almost limitless variety of shapes thatrange in weight from mere ounces to more than 25 tons.

As the name implies, twoor more dies containing impressions are brought together as forging stockundergoes plastic deformation.

Because the dies restrict metal flow, thisprocess can yield more complex shapes and closer tolerances than open-dieforging.

Impression-die forging accounts for the majority of aluminum forgingproduction.

3 - Rolled-ring forging When industrial applications call for ahigh strength, circular cross section component, there is no match forrolled-ring forging.

The process typically begins with an open-die forging tocreate a ring preform, shaped like a doughnut.

Next, several rollers applypressure on the preform until the desired wall thickness and height areachieved.

Configurations can be flat, like a washer or feature heights of morethan 80 inches.

Rings can be rolled into numerous sizes, ranging fromroller-bearing sleeves to large pressure vessels.
