X100CrMoV5 cold work die steel is an A2 steel imported from the United States and is the most widely used among Class A air-hardened steels.

It is suitable for cold work die steel that requires both wear resistance and toughness.

It can replace CrWMn and 9Mn2V steel to make medium and small cold blanking dies, blanking dies, forming dies and punches, etc.

Mechanical properties

Hardness: annealed, ≤255HB, indentation diameter ≥3.95mm; quenched, ≥60HRC

Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure

Heat treatment specifications: quenching, preheating at 790±15℃, heating at 940±6℃ (salt bath) or 950±6℃ (furnace controlled atmosphere), holding for 5~15min, air cooling, and tempering at 200±6℃.
