The manufacturing process of 42crmo4 qt mainly includes smelting, casting, hot rolling, forging, heat treatment and other processes.

The smelting process usually adopts electric arc furnace or converter steelmaking method to obtain high-quality molten steel.

The casting process usually adopts continuous casting technology to obtain steel plates with good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy.

The hot rolling process controls parameters such as rolling temperature and rolling force to obtain good organization and mechanical properties of the steel plate.

The forging process obtains a more uniform and dense organization structure of the steel plate through plastic deformation at high temperature.

The heat treatment process controls parameters such as heating temperature, holding time and cooling rate to obtain the required mechanical properties and metallographic structure of the steel plate.

There are two mainstream methods of 42crmo4 qt: electric arc furnace smelting, secondary refining and vacuum degassing, and converter steelmaking and continuous casting technology used by large steel mills.

Electric arc furnace steelmaking is suitable for small batch production, while converter steelmaking is suitable for large batch production.

Compared with electric arc furnace steelmaking, converter steelmaking has a shorter smelting cycle, lower power consumption and higher molten steel purity.

In terms of hot processing, 42CrMo4 steel ingots produced by EAL+LF+VD are mainly used for hot forging, while 42CrMo4 steel billets made by converter + continuous casting process are usually used as hot rolled products.
