This steel has good strength, good toughness, high hardenability, good workability, small processing deformation, quite good fatigue resistance, small deformation during quenching, and high creep strength and durable strength at high temperature.

It is used to manufacture forgings that require higher strength and larger quenched and tempered section than 35CrMo steel, such as large gears for locomotive traction, supercharger transmission gears, rear axles, connecting rods and spring clips that are heavily loaded, and can also be used for Drill pipe joints and fishing tools for oil wells below 2000m, and can be used for molds of bending machines, etc.

Heat treatment:

1 - Normalizing: Heat the furnace to 900°C~930°C, keep the thickest cross section per inch at this temperature for one hour, and cool in air.

2 - Heat to austenitizing at a temperature of 860℃~885℃, and keep the thickest cross section per inch for one hour at this temperature

3 - Normalizing or oil quenching, and cooling to a maximum temperature of 121°C

4 - Temper at a temperature that achieves the following mechanical properties.

The thickest cross-section per inch is held for one hour at the tempering temperature, and the tempering temperature range is 640 ° C ~ 680 ° C

5 - For each heat treatment process, a heat treatment chart must be drawn.

6 - The mechanical property test shall be carried out in accordance with the stipulations of ASTM.

A-370 - The sample material used for the test shall be cut from the test bar of the same furnace steel.

The casting or forging represented by the sample and the test bar shall be in the same furnace.

The test bar shall be heat treated in the same furnace together with the charge.

7 - The mechanical properties should meet the following requirements: (Tested with a test bar, sampling according to APT 6A, 110K standard) - Tensile strength minimum lb/inch (862) Yield strength minimum lb/inch 110.000 (758) 2 inches The minimum value of elongation is 15% and the minimum value of section shrinkage rate is %40 - Brinell hardness HB285 ~ take, the casting or forging represented by the sample and the test bar must be in the same furnace, and the test bar should be heat treated in the same furnace together with the charge.

9 - Marking: Each part shall be printed with heat treatment marks and hardness with low stress steel stamp.
