D2 material heat treatment process

Stress relief annealing: After rough machining, the workpiece is heated to 600~650℃, kept for 2 hours, cooled to 500℃ in the furnace, and air cooled after exiting the furnace.

Quenching: The workpiece is slowly heated to 600°C, kept for 20 minutes for the first preheating, and then raised to 850°C after equalization, and then kept for 30 minutes for the second preheating, and finally heated to 1020~1040°C, kept for 25~40 minutes, and discharged.

Air cooled.

Tempering: Tempering should be done immediately after quenching, and tempered at least twice, with a holding time of not less than 2 hours each time.

Note: Tempering should be carried out in time after quenching to prevent cracking and surface decarburization.

Gauges and high-precision molds should be cryogenically treated (-70°C), and high-temperature tempering should be used to reduce workpiece deformation.

The high-temperature tempering temperature is 500~ 560℃, hardness greater than 58HRC Hardness: annealed, ≤255HB, indentation diameter ≥3.8mm; quenching, ≥59HRC D2 material heat treatment specifications

Quenching, preheating at 820±15℃, heating at 1000±6℃ (salt bath) or 1010±6℃ (furnace controlled atmosphere), holding for 10~20min, air cooling, and tempering at 200±6℃.
