    GOST 50ХФА alloy steel is a high-strength alloy spring steel similar to 50CrVA (China), AISI 6150 (USA), 51CrV4 (Germany) and SUP10 (Japan), mainly used for the manufacture of high-stress springs, shafts and tools.

    The steel has high hardenability, strength and wear resistance, but due to its high alloy content, the processing performance is relatively difficult compared to ordinary carbon steel.

    Effect of heat treatment on processability

    The machinability of GOST 50ХФА alloy steel varies in different heat treatment states:

    Annealed state (hardness 200-250 HB): good processability, suitable for turning, milling and drilling.

    Quenched and tempered state (hardness 45-52 HRC): difficult to process, only suitable for grinding and EDM discharge machining.

    The processability of GOST 50ХФА alloy steel is good in the annealed state, and conventional cutting can be performed; after quenching and tempering, the processing difficulty increases, mainly relying on grinding and EDM.

    Reasonable selection of tools and processes can improve processing efficiency and part quality.
