ASTM 5140 steel mechanical properties: Strength: ASTM 5140 steel has high yield strength and tensile strength.

Its yield strength is generally around 500 - 600 MPa, and its tensile strength can reach about 650 - 800 MPa, which can withstand the large loads generated during stamping.

Good toughness: The elongation after fracture is usually around 12% - 16%, and the cross-sectional shrinkage is around 40% - 50%, showing good toughness, which means that during the stamping process, the steel can undergo plastic deformation to a certain extent without easily breaking, which helps to ensure the service life of the mold.

Moderate hardness: In the annealed state, the hardness of ASTM 5140 steel is generally around 170 - 230 HBW.

This moderate hardness facilitates cutting processes such as turning and milling, making it easy to manufacture complex mold shapes.
