1.7225 is a special steel, also known as 42CrMo4, which is commonly used to manufacture parts in engineering machinery, automobile manufacturing, energy and aerospace.

After proper heat treatment, this steel has high strength, high toughness and excellent wear resistance.

The hardness range of 1.7225 is HRC55 to HRC62 - With the continuous advancement of engineering technology, the manufacturing process and performance of 1.7225 special steel may be improved to meet the changing market needs.

Heat treatment process of 1.7225 hardness steel

1 - Annealing: annealing furnace temperature 760℃, air cooling to 400℃ after leaving the furnace, HB220-230.

2 - Normalizing: normalizing furnace temperature is 860-890℃, air cooling after leaving the furnace.

3 - Quenching and tempering: quenching furnace temperature is 840-880℃, quenching water or oil, depending on the complexity of the product shape.

Tempering temperature is 680-700℃, air cooling.

4 - Strengthening treatment: quenching temperature is 900℃, tempering temperature is 560℃, hardness is 37.1HRC.

5 - Induction quenching: quenching temperature is 900℃, tempering temperature is 150-180℃, hardness is 54-60HRC.
