Heat treatment process guide for 30CrNiMo8 alloy steel: Normalizing treatment

- **Purpose**: Refine grains, uniform structure, improve cutting performance, etc.

- **Process parameters**: Normalizing temperature is generally around 880℃, holding time is usually around 5 hours, and then air cooling.

Quenching treatment

- **Purpose**: Obtain martensitic structure and improve the hardness and strength of steel.

- **Process parameters**: Quenching temperature is between 840-860℃, holding time is 4-4.5 hours, and water quenching and oil cooling are generally used for quenching, which can ensure the quenching effect while preventing deformation and cracking of the workpiece.

Tempering treatment

- **Purpose**: Reduce the internal stress generated by quenching, improve the toughness and plasticity of steel, make the structure more stable, and obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties.

- **Process parameters**: Tempering temperature is usually selected between 570-620℃, and tempering time is 4.5-5 hours.
