1.2738 Plastic Mold Steel Surface Treatment
Nitriding treatment
Nitriding temperature: 525°C, nitriding time can be selected as 20h, 30h or 50h, nitriding layer thickness is 0.30mm, 0.35mm and 0.50mm respectively.
Soft nitriding treatment: 570°C for 2 hours, surface hardness is about 700HV, nitriding layer depth is about 0.1mm.
Flame or induction hardening
Hardening can be carried out by local heating (850~950°C), followed by cooling in air.
After flame hardening, tempering treatment at 150~200℃ should be carried out to prevent mold cracking.
