    UNS N06601 is a high temperature alloy designated as such because of its excellent resistance to hot gases and combustion products above 550°C (1022°F), corrosion resistance to molten salts and molten metals, and good short-term and long-term mechanical properties.

    Even under severe conditions such as repeated heating and cooling cycles, UNS N06601 maintains a tightly adherent oxide film that is extremely difficult to peel off.

    It also has good resistance to carburization.

    In addition, if the oxygen partial pressure is high enough, UNS N06601 exhibits good resistance to carbonitriding conditions.
