It had been evaluated and certificated by several top ranked national authoritative institution.

As a semi-crystalline polymer and the five largest engineering plastics, PBT is widely used in producing OFLT due to its outstanding characteristics like high mechanical strength, thermal resistance, dimensional stability, creep resistance and chemical resistance.

Starester®1230HR, which has high yield strength, flexible strength, impact strength and Young’s modulus, is suitable for both two main OFLT’s structures, bundle and ribbon cable.

The OFLT produced by Starester®1230HR involves excellent axial tension resistance, lateral pressure resistance, impact resistance and also high roundness performances that can provide the best protection for optical fiber.

Typical Features of Starester®1230HR

(1) Excellent mechanical strength

The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of Starester®1230HR is up to 1.30dl/g.

For OFLT, the higher IV PBT, the greater strength will obtain.

The characteristics of the OFLT produced by Starester®1230HR are as following, yield strength more than 40MPa, elongation at break more than 200%, lateral pressure more than 800N, no white and no crack after bending test.

(2) Excellent quality stability ensuring the stability of axial posterior shrinking of OFLT

The IV fluctuation of Starester®1230HR is less than ±0.02 due to excellent processing ability, which represents top level within the PBT industry.

The axial posterior shrinking for OFLT produced by Starester®1230HR can not only obtain the requirement of less than |±0.5%|, but also the fluctuation is less than ±0.15 stably.

(3) Excellent roundness of OFLT due to suitable crystallization behavior.

The crystallization temperature of Starester®1230HR is up to 185~190℃, it is almost 140℃ higher than the cooling water temperature at 40-50℃.

Such difference in temperature is benefit for fast crystallization of OFLT that can prevent the deformation for OFLT during cooling condition.

And the ellipticity can be controlled within 0.04.

(4) Compatible with pigments

Starester®1230HR has excellent dying properties, and excellent compatibility with pigment or masterbatch.

After loose tube dyeing, the pigment will not deposite, which can avoid influence of pigment on fiber gel, and ensure the protective effect of gel on optical fiber.

(5) Immiscible with fiber gel to ensure the long-term production for OFLT
